Product Description

Ganesha is one of the most popular of the Hindu gods; he is the bringer of luck, the clearer of obstacles, the god of wisdom and the protector of books and knowledge.

Here Ganesha is pictured carrying a gada or mace, a padma or lotus flower, modakapatra or a bowl of sweet food, and his broken tusk.

The gada represents protection for the wearer. Ganesha is decisive and commanding. He casts karmas back on devotees for resolution, never letting up until completion.

The lotus flower shows how Ganesha wants devotees to learn confidence. The lotus flower shows true potential by coming from the depths of the mud and blooming high above the water.

The modakapatra is symbolic of how Ganesha is said to have a sweet tooth, or tusk. The sweetsd themselves are symbols of what Ganesha loves most, and that is liberation.

Finally the bropken tusk is symbolic of the power of self sacrifice and as such Ganesha teaches us that we must finish what we start.

Ganesha should always be placed facing a doorway to remove any negative energy that may be entering the room.

This batik is approximately 82cm x 56 cm
