Product Description

Saraswati is here depicted in her typical pose, sitting on a lotus flower, playing the veena (lute). Saraswati symbolises true knowledge.

Saraswati is very popular among students, artists, teachers and scientists as she helps us to acquire knowledge. However, her purity and union with God serve to remind us that we must use what we learn for the good of others and the world around us.

Saraswati usually has four arms, in which she carries a book, signifying intellect, a mala (rayer beads) to represent meditation and union with the Divine and she plays a lute (or veena) with two hands.

Her swan is Saraswati's vehicle. She has chosen the Swan because it has a strong sense of discrimination - it quickly determines right from wrong and makes the right choices.

Rainbow batiks are hand-printed and painted. Rainbow batiks are approximately 2.5 ft by 4 ft.

Please note that as this is a hand finished product, colours may vary from those pictured

Due to the nature of the hand printing techniques used in India, there may be natural variations in design and some double printing may occur, however this does not detract from the beautiful finish of this batik.
