The Omicron Chequered Combat Trousers are soft brushed cotton trousers with a properly loud blue chequered look. They’re made in Nepal using traditional methods, and sit firmly in the festival-clothing end of the shop rather than the sensible-trousers end.

They come in Large and XL. Both sizes stretch from around a 30-inch waist up to roughly 46 inches at full stretch, with a drawstring to pull the waist back in. Large has an approximate 74cm inseam; XL is approximately 78cm.

The brushed cotton gives them a softer feel than stiff combat trousers, and the drawstring makes the generous waist range more forgiving. Handy for festivals, lounging about, or putting on when plain trousers seem like a dull idea.

These are for people who think plain combats have had a fair run. The blue chequered pattern is unapologetic, but the brushed cotton is the real selling point: properly soft rather than stiff and scratchy. Both sizes have a generous stretch waist and a drawstring, so there’s a bit more room to get the fit right than the label alone suggests.
