Product description
A Thai Buddha Dhyana Fabric Effect Statue with a coppery painted finish and detailed robes in a velvet-and-netting fabric effect, finished with gold edging.
The figure is shown seated in the lotus position, with both palms resting upwards in the lap in the Dhyana Mudra pose. It has a proper presence rather than being a tiny shelf ornament, measuring 300mm long, 200mm wide and 132mm deep.
This is the sort of piece that works well on a dedicated shelf, altar or quiet corner alongside incense holders and other Buddhist figures. The robe detail gives it more to look at than a plain painted statue, while the warm coppery colour keeps it from looking too severe.
Paul says
This is a decent-sized Buddha, so give it a shelf where it can actually be seen rather than wedging it between clutter. I like the robe work on this one: the velvet-and-netting effect and gold edging stop the coppery finish looking flat. The upward-facing palms are a nice, recognisable detail too.
