A wooden apothecary box with three separate compartments, carved Om symbols on the front, sides and top, plus metal adornments that give it a properly old-school look.

At 228mm wide, it has enough presence to sit out on a shelf, desk or side table rather than disappearing into a drawer. The flip-top lid is a nice detail too, making it feel more like a small chest than an ordinary trinket box.

Use the sections to keep small stash bits, papers, jewellery or assorted loose pieces together instead of letting them wander about. It is decorative without being overly delicate, and the carved Om work means there is something to look at from more than one side.

This is a proper little statement box, not something you hide at the back of a cupboard. The carved Om symbols run across the front, sides and top, and the metal detailing stops it looking too plain. I like the three compartments for keeping the usual loose bits in one place, without having everything rattling around together.
