This stunning statue, made from resin depicts the Buddha displaying the Bhumisparsha mudra.

This position, with his hand reaching towards the ground, literally means "calling the earth to witness." It shows the moment that Buddha attained enlightenment after meditating under the bodhi tree.

He reached his hand towards the ground, and in doing so summoned the earth goddess Sthavara to bear witness to his enlightenment.

The sttaue has been painted with an antique-style green, with hilights picked out in burnished gold and copper.
