Edoras Chequered Combat Trousers are lightweight, 100% cotton trousers with a loose, easy-going fit and proper outside pockets on each leg. They’re handmade in Nepal and suit the festival, beach and general knocking-about end of the wardrobe rather than anything too polished.

The Large size has an elasticated waist that stretches from around 29 to 42 inches. Extra Large has an approximately 80cm inseam and an elasticated waist stretching from around 32 to 46 inches. Both have a drawstring waist, so you can pull them in rather than relying on the elastic alone.

The chequered combat look is loud enough to do its own thing, while the pockets make them useful when you don’t fancy carrying a bag. Check the measurements before ordering, especially if leg length is usually the deciding factor.

These are for people who think plain trousers are a missed opportunity. The chequered pattern does the talking, but the outside leg pockets are the bit you’ll actually use. The elasticated waist has plenty of give and the drawstring lets you bring it back in, which is handy because trouser sizing has never been mankind’s finest achievement.
