Patchwork Purple Trousers in lightweight, breathable cotton, made for days when plain trousers would be a bit too sensible. The patchwork mixes different prints, textures and designs, giving them the properly colourful hippy-shop look rather than a uniform finish.

There’s an elasticated waistband with adjustable drawstrings, so you can set the fit rather than relying on luck. You also get two hip pockets and one rear pocket for the usual small essentials.

Available in Large, fitting a 30–36 inch waist, and XL, fitting a 32–38 inch waist. Handy for festivals, lounging about, travelling, or just making an ordinary outfit less ordinary.

These are for people who don’t want their trousers to disappear into the background. The purple patchwork has plenty going on, so I’d keep the rest of the outfit fairly straightforward unless you’re committed to the full festival-tent look. The drawstring and elasticated waist are useful too, especially when you’re between sizes or have had a substantial lunch.
