Product description
A substantial Thai Buddha Regency Statue in a seated meditation pose, shown with the right hand pointing towards the ground. This is the Bhumisparsa mudra, often described as ‘calling the earth to witness’.
It stands around 25cm tall and measures 250mm long by 165mm wide and 120mm deep. The resin has a stained wood-look finish, picked out with gold-painted edging and coloured stone decoration. At 1422g, it has a reassuringly solid presence on a shelf or display table.
This is a detailed Buddha figure for a meditation corner, home altar or simply a spot that could do with a more considered ornament. The gold and coloured details mean it is not trying to disappear into the background, which is fair enough for a statue of this size.
Paul says
This is a proper weighty piece, not a tiny shelf ornament pretending to be a statue. The stained wood-look resin, gold edging and coloured stones give it plenty to look at, and the 25cm height lets the seated Buddha pose read clearly from across a room. Put it somewhere stable and let it do its thing.
