Product description

A large Buddha batik wall piece measuring 760 × 1220mm. The artwork shows Buddha seated on a lotus-shaped cushion, with hands in the Vitarka Mudra, a gesture linked with discussion and the passing on of Buddhist teaching.

It’s a good size for giving a plain wall something to look at without needing a whole gallery arrangement around it. The hand-finished, hand-printing process used in India means colours and details will vary from one piece to the next. You may also see the occasional area of double printing. That’s part of how these batiks come, rather than a fault.

If you want a Buddha design that has proper presence and doesn’t look overly polished or mass-produced, this is the one.

This is a proper large wall piece, not a little postcard-sized print pretending to fill a room. The Buddha artwork has plenty going on, particularly the lotus cushion and hand gesture, but it isn’t fussy. As it’s hand finished, don’t expect every one to match the photo exactly. A little variation, and the odd bit of double printing, is part of the deal with these batiks.
