Product description

A hand-printed and painted Rainbow batik showing Saraswati on a rock, with a peacock near her feet. The artwork also includes the swan she chooses as her vehicle, giving the piece plenty to look at beyond the main figure.

At approximately 760 x 1220mm, it has the broad, landscape shape of a proper wall piece rather than a small print. It suits a bedroom, study, music room or any corner that could do with some colour and Indian artwork.

Each one is hand finished in India, so colours and printed detail will vary from the photo. You may also see the occasional bit of double printing. That’s part of the hand-printing process, not a factory-perfect poster.

This is a big one at roughly four foot wide, so don’t expect a little background decoration. The Saraswati artwork has the peacock and swan detail near her feet, which gives it a proper story rather than just a central figure. Hand printing means colours and the odd doubled line can vary. That’s the deal with batiks, and frankly it’s better than having every one look identical.
